Swiftly leaping up from my seat like a coiled spring, my leather chair almost toppling over, I fitted my concealed earpiece, “How are you even a part of my agency!?” In a low voice capable of rumbling the ocean, I rebuked the spy.
“I’m sorry ma’am, it’s just-”
Cutting through whatever he was about to blabber and checking my surroundings to make sure nobody was within earshot, I whispered, “You are pitiful! How did an agent from D.S.I allow an essential package to be intercepted by a gang as lowly as the one you were assigned to? Explain it to me!” Stentorian and commanding, I was ready to crush the man with fiery insults and verbose punishment.
